我們家老大小罡剛滿兩歲的時候動了一個小手術，挨刀的部位還有點讓人不好意思啟齒……就是他的小蛋蛋。那時候醫生診斷他有一點隱睪的現象，所以趁早開刀治療，免得長大以後多了其他的後遺症。現在已經過了兩年了，術後的追蹤都很正常，治療的結果頗為理想。
幾個月前，我們發現弟弟小雍好像也有類似的問題。照理說，小男嬰的睪丸在出生後就該乖乖待在陰囊裡了，有人的會晚一點才從腹腔掉下來，但是如果一歲之後還沒有就定位，往後要指望它(或是它們)自然恢復正常就不太容易了。
但小雍的兩顆蛋蛋和他哥哥一樣，雖然偶而可以看到它們正常出現在陰囊裡，不過大部份的時候卻好像在和人玩捉迷藏似地縮回腹腔去，不管我們怎麼摸，都只摸到一口空袋子。有了先前的經驗，我們還是儘快帶去給醫生仔細檢查一下比較好。
經過幾個月來的觀察，小雍的狀況並沒有隨著時間獲得明顯的改善。醫生因此也確診他和哥哥的確都有同樣的毛病，就是所謂的伸縮性睪丸(retractile testis，或叫回縮性隱睪)，也屬於隱睪症的一種。簡單說就是吊住睪丸的肌肉太緊了，常常把睪丸又拉回了腹腔裡面。醫生也決定儘早幫他安排手術治療，比他哥哥動這個手術的年紀還早了大約四個月。
雖然知道這不是什麼大手術，但小雍才一歲九個月，語言的溝通上還很困難，行動也不太受到控制，我們多少還是有點擔心手術過程和之後的復原情況是否順利。因此我把工作上的事情安排好後，還是到醫院裡來和老婆一起照顧他。
開刀前一天，小雍住進了台大兒童醫院的病房。這時候他還不知道接下來會受到一些皮肉之苦，即使是在病床上，還是和哥哥一起玩得不亦樂乎。照X光和做心電圖檢查時也配合得很，一動也不動地乖乖躺著。
不過後來的抽血就沒那麼輕鬆了。因為幼兒的血管本來就比較細，光是把針頭扎對位置，就費了護士阿姨好大一番工夫。我只是在一旁看著針頭在小雍手背上的肉裡進進退退，就不禁覺得有點頭皮發麻。想當然耳，即使我們把他的臉別過去不讓看，小雍的大腦早就傳進了針刺的痛覺，也立刻下達了狂哭的指令。好不容易採完血，針頭也就順便用一塊硬板固定在手上，以方便手術進行的過程打點滴之用。小雍端詳著這個插在自己手上的玩意兒，大概也開始覺得有些苗頭不對了。
開刀前醫生再一次確認了動刀的部位。由於是兩邊的蛋蛋都要調整，所以醫生用麥克筆在小雍兩邊的下腹位置各畫了一個黑點做記號。說實在的，還真像是長了眼睛的大象啊！(請各位透過馬賽克自己想像一下吧。)
手術安排在隔天一大早的第一檯。八點鐘還不到，小雍就換上了小病人服，在媽媽的陪伴下被推進了開刀房。麻醉很快就發生了效果，手術也正式開始，我們在外面的家屬休息室等候。
實際上手術進行的時間應該沒有太久，但因為要等到全身麻醉恢復，所以最後推出開刀房的時間已經十點多。過程很順利，麻醉還沒全退的小雍看起來還是一副沒睡醒的樣子。回到病房之後再休息了一段時間，中午左右就可以開始喝母奶。開刀的傷口並不大，只有在陰囊的下方淺淺的兩道而已，以一小塊紗布和防水膠帶包紮。觀察了一天沒有什麼問題，隔天就出院了。
術後的護理也很簡單，只需保持傷口的乾燥即可。過了兩天就可以自己把紗布拆去，摸了一下，蛋蛋果然順利入袋了。
各位可能不禁懷疑起來，既然兩個兒子都有一模一樣的毛病，那麼身為老爸的是不是也有這方面的「隱疾」呢？這裡可要順便澄清一下，老狐狸可是正常得很，要不然這兩個小傢伙是從哪裡來的？不過話又說回來，這也不是什麼多大的毛病，只要早一點發現與治療，到時候小狐狸如果想生一窩小小狐狸的話，也不會有什麼問題的啦！

黑點只是標記兩邊都要處理，並不是實際動刀的位置。我記得刀口很小，術後護理沒什麼困難，恢復也很快, 但這已經是八年前的事了，確切的時間已經記不清楚了。反正現在是好得很，不講的話都快忘記有動過這個手術了。

傷口很小，頂多一兩公分吧。因為陰囊那裡本來就有很多皺褶，所以幾乎看不出疤痕。

印象中也沒什麼要特別注意的，只要儘量不要讓傷口碰水就可以了。事實上因為貼了防水膠帶，所以也沒有那麼難護理，就是清洗時不要長時間泡水就好，萬一溼了就馬上換藥。這只是個小手術，傷口不大，請不用太擔心，很快就會復原的。祝你的寶貝手術順利！
